Paver Sealing
3 Part Paver Restoration Process:
Clean. We will clean the surface of the pavers and remove the old sand out of the joints of the paver system.
Re-sand. Once the pavers are dry, we will use SEK Surebond's PolySweep Polymeric Sand, which protects from weed growth, insect infestation and sand erosion. It is also designed to expand and contract during the freeze thaw cycles and remain flexible to resist cracking. Once the sand is in place, we activate with water and let dry.
Seal. Once the pavers are dry, we use one of SEK Surebond's protective sealers. There are many types of sealer to choose from to match the home owner's preferences. The two most common are SB1300, a natural look matte finish, and SB8700, a wet look solvent based sealer.
Before
In the picture above notice the fading weathered look of the pavers, the efflorescence (white staining) from water runoff down the right side of the driveway past the potted plant and the greese/oil stain at the same level as the potted plant in the middle of the drive.
After
In the restoration we removed the efflorecence, the greese stain and restored the pavers to their original shine using a "wet look" solvent-based sealer.
